Cookie Policy
A clear explanation of the cookies, tags and third-party technologies that may operate on wizzweb.co.za.
1What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small data files that a website or third-party service may place on or read from your device. Similar technologies can include local storage, pixels, tags, SDKs and other identifiers used to operate a website, remember preferences, measure use or support advertising.
Not every website integration sets a cookie. For example, a tag manager can load or control other tags without itself necessarily being the cookie that performs analytics or advertising.
2Why WizzWeb may use them
- To make the WordPress/Elementor website function properly.
- To remember privacy or cookie choices where a consent tool is configured.
- To protect the website, forms and sessions from misuse.
- To understand website performance and visitor interaction where analytics is enabled.
- To display third-party content such as reviews.
- To support advertising measurement or remarketing only where such tools are actually configured and their use is lawful.
3Cookie categories
| Category | Purpose | WizzWeb approach |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Core website operation, security, form/session functions and saving privacy choices. | Used where technically necessary for the site or a requested service. |
| Functional | Enhanced functionality or embedded third-party features. | May be used where enabled. Some external content may not work if blocked. |
| Analytics | Understanding visits, pages, events and website performance. | Used only where an analytics tag is actually configured and handled according to the site's applicable privacy/consent settings. |
| Advertising / marketing | Campaign measurement, audience creation, conversion tracking or remarketing. | Used only if WizzWeb deliberately configures such a tag and applies appropriate notice, choice and POPIA controls. |
4Current website integrations we can identify
| Technology | Current purpose | Cookie note |
|---|---|---|
| WordPress & Elementor | Website content management and page rendering. | May use technical or functional storage depending on site configuration, plugins and logged-in/admin state. |
| Google Tag Manager | Tag management — a container used to deploy and manage website tags. | GTM itself should not be treated as proof that Google Analytics, Google Ads or another tag is active. Any tag deployed through it must be assessed separately. |
| Trustindex / Google review content | Displays review content sourced through the review widget. | Third-party resources may receive technical request information and may use storage according to their own configuration and policies. |
| Google Fonts | Loads the WizzWeb web fonts used by the legal pages and other website content. | Font requests can transmit ordinary technical connection data; Google Fonts does not need to be described as an advertising cookie unless a separate advertising service is configured. |
5Google Tag Manager
WizzWeb's live website currently loads Google Tag Manager. GTM is a tag-management tool. It can be used to deploy analytics, conversion or marketing tags, but the presence of GTM does not by itself establish which downstream tags are active.
Where WizzWeb configures non-essential analytics or advertising tags through GTM, those tags should be connected to the website's consent settings so they do not operate contrary to the visitor choices presented by WizzWeb.
6Trustindex and Google review content
The website currently uses a Trustindex review integration that displays Google review content. Loading embedded or third-party content can cause technical information such as IP address, browser information and request data to be sent to the relevant provider.
Third-party services operate under their own terms and privacy practices. WizzWeb does not control a third party's independent processing.
7Your choices
Where a cookie/consent banner is presented, you should be able to make a genuine choice about non-essential categories that WizzWeb has enabled. Rejecting non-essential tracking should not prevent access to ordinary website content, although an optional embedded feature may not operate.
If you change your mind, use the website's cookie settings control if available, clear the relevant cookies in your browser, or contact WizzWeb for assistance.
8Browser controls
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies, limit third-party cookies or clear stored website data. The exact steps vary by browser and device. Blocking all cookies can affect website functionality.
9Third-party platforms
When you follow a link to Google, Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok or another external service, that service's own privacy and cookie practices apply. WizzWeb does not control cookies set solely on another organisation's website.
10Cookies and personal information
Where cookie, tag or device information is personal information for purposes of POPIA, WizzWeb will process it in accordance with the Privacy & POPIA Policy, including the principles of purpose limitation, minimality, transparency, security and lawful processing.
11Changes to this policy
WizzWeb may update this policy when plugins, analytics tools, advertising tags, embedded content or consent settings change. The updated date at the top of this page shows the latest published version.
